Located on the Princes Highway - approximately 260km from Melbourne CBD, Warrnambool is the eastern end of the Great Ocean Road with a population of 35,743 (2021) which continues to grow year by year. Established as a municipality in 1855, decleared a town in 1883 and finally a city in 1918, the Warrnambool CBD has seen significant change in response to the increasing popularity across Australia.

The traditional Indigenous owners of the land are the Gunditjmara people, also known as the Dhauwurd Wurrung, that have lived in Warrnambool for at least 35,000 years.

3. Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve

Tower Hill is located in a large volanic crater formed over 30,000 years ago and is home to some of Australia's most beloved wildlife including koalas, kangaroos and emus!

Drive through Tower Hill and enjoy the impressive scenery and landscape that it has to offer for all ages.

Visit the Tower Hill Visitor Centre to take part in a guided tour and learn how Tower Hill was transformed from a desolate wasteland to the park that is enjoyed by all.

4. Stingray Bay & Breakwater

Stingray Bay is a small beach located at the end of Lake Pertobe near the mouth of the Merri River, offers picturesque views of Middle Island where the film Oddball was filmed, which is home to little penguins, short-tailed shearwater and the black-faced cormorants.

The Warrnambool Breakwater was built between 1874 and 1890, and now is a popular location for fishing with seals and stingrays regularly visiting.
