Located on the coast of Victoria - 28km from Warrnambool & 287km from Melbourne, Port Fairy is a small coastal town with a population of just 3,424 (2021). Voted as the World's Most Liveable Small Community in 2012, Port Fairy accomodates a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants on the main streets in town.
Particularly known for the annual Port Fairy Folk Festival which has been running for 47 years, it has now become one of Austtalia's largest and most loved festivals that takes place over the Victorian Labour Day long weekend bringing in large crowds from all around Australia.

Griffiths Island & Port Fairy Lighthouse

Griffiths Island accomodates a vast group of native animals including shearwater seabirds, swamp wallabies, black wallabies, short beaked echidnas, blue tongue lizards, brown snakes and even copperhead snakes which have all been seen on the island.
The iconic Port Fairy Lighthouse which is located on the edge of Griffiths Island - a short 20 minute filled with scenery - was built over 160 years ago and is still standing, sending light out to the sea today.
Griffiths Island & the Port Fairy Lighthouse are both a must see if you're visiting Port Fairy, you won't be disappointed!
Port Fairy Museum

The Port Fairy Museum and Archives Centre managed by the Port Fairy Society is located at 30 Gipps Street, featuring permanent and temporary exhibitions on display which tell the stories of the whaling era and local shipwrecks.
For just $5 for adults & free entry for children, you too can experience the rich history of Port Fairy on a guided walk and tour provided by the musuem.
Martins Point & Moyne River

Described as the section where the Moyne River meets the Bass Strait sea, Martins Point is the perfect place to visit if you're looking to spend a quite afternoon with the family.
The Moyne River which splits Port Fairy into two, is a popular fishing spot for anglers and is also filled with an impressive assembly of boats that are moored all year long.
If you're in town, this is a must visit if you enjoy a quite afternoon stroll with the family with a playground for the children to enjoy at Martins Point.
Port Fairy Golf Links Course

Located at 70 Sackville St, Rebecca's Cafe which have been open for over 26 years, is a very popular spot for residents and tourists to grab a bite or drink. Rebecca's Cafe is open from 6.30am - 5pm all week with a range of breakfast & lunch options avaliable.
The Mill
Located at 42 Sackville St, The Mill is another popular cafe situated on the main street of Port Fairy serving breakfast and lunch with fresh coffees from 7.30am - 3.30pm on Monday to Saturday and 8am - 3pm on Sundays.
The Oak & Anchor Hotel
Located at 9 Bank St, The Oak & Anchor Hotel have been part of the Port Fairy community since 1857 and have had a few name changes throughout its history, however it continues to provide an excellent bar, lounge & dining experience as well as accommodation and plenty more!
